The central shaft on this blue sai measures 14.5" and the two prongs jut out two inches from the center. This shap makes it easy to learn sai techniques safely because, even if you accidentally poke or prod yourself hard, you won't get hurt too badly as the prongs are unsharpened.
The safe plastic sai are made out of a durable high-density polyethylene plastic, so they won't bend or flex (as you would expect with an item simulating metal weapons) but will still be light.
